How to approach organising a space
Work out which of three problems you have. If things go missing, you need dividers and labels rather than more storage. If the space is full, you need to go vertical — wall racks, stacking units, over-door hangers — or compress what you can with vacuum bags. If things are in the wrong place, you need something mobile, like a trolley that follows the job around. Measure the interior of a drawer or cupboard rather than its front, and check whether mounted items fix with screws, adhesive or suction before you order: adhesive and suction need a smooth, non-porous surface and a load limit worth respecting.
Home organisation FAQs
What can I use in a rented home without drilling?
Punch-free wall racks, over-door and tension-fit organisers, freestanding trolleys and adhesive hooks all install without damaging walls.
Where should I start?
One drawer or one shelf, finished properly, beats half-sorting a whole room. Pick the spot that annoys you most often.
Do vacuum storage bags really save space?
For bedding and bulky clothing, yes — compressed volume is typically a fraction of the original. They are less useful for anything that creases badly.
