Sofa beds that work as everyday seating and turn into a proper bed when guests arrive. Our range covers 3-in-1 pull-out designs, L-shaped corner sofa beds with dual trundles and storage, and compact single sofa beds for box rooms and home offices.
Types of sofa bed we stock
- 3-in-1 pull-out sofa beds — sofa, chaise and bed in one, usually with an adjustable backrest.
- 4-in-1 L-shaped sofa beds — corner seating with dual pull-out trundles for two sleepers.
- Single sofa beds and chair beds — narrow frames with cup holders and side pockets for smaller rooms.
- Storage sofa beds — nine designs have an under-seat or chaise compartment, 110–134 cm long and 15.5–22 cm deep.
- Fabric finishes — corduroy, velvet, chenille and linen-look upholstery.
How to choose a sofa bed
Check the sleeping surface, not the sofa. Every UK mattress is 190 cm long, and most sofa beds — ours included — fall short of that: of the 90 designs here that publish bed dimensions, 64 have no side reaching 190 cm and only three match a full UK double. Price is no guide either. Read the bed dimensions on the product page, compare the long side against 190 cm and the short side against 90 cm, then work out how much floor the mechanism needs when open. Our sofa bed buying guide sets out the three checks with measured figures for every design in this range.
Sofa bed FAQs
Are sofa beds comfortable enough to sleep on every night?
Occasional use suits most designs. For nightly sleeping, choose a model with pocket springs and a sleeping surface that clears 190 cm, and add a mattress topper rather than relying on the folding pad alone.
How much floor space do I need?
It depends on the mechanism. Split-back designs that fold flat need as little as 24 cm of extra depth; pull-outs need 85–100 cm and click-clacks around 105–115 cm. Several L-shaped designs open within their own footprint. Every product page lists both the sofa and the extended bed dimensions — how to read them is here.
Is a double sofa bed the same as a double bed?
Usually not. A UK double mattress is 135 × 190 cm, and a product named as a double is describing how many people it seats rather than the mattress size it matches. Three designs in this range meet the full double standard.
